Volunteers Needed for May 9th “Healthy Hayden Creek” Event
Event features tree-planting, reclamation and educational activities for all ages
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a day of activities aimed at restoring a misused and neglected patch of land that has negatively impacted water quality in Hayden Creek. Volunteers will plant, stake and protect larch seedlings. All participants will be treated to refreshments, courtesy of the Watershed Association.
The planting event will take place at the confluence of Ohio Match Rd. and FSR 437. It is recommended that volunteers go north on Rimrock Rd. to Ohio Match Rd. and turn east (right). Access via FSR 437 is discouraged due to adverse road conditions.
Volunteers are urged to wear sturdy shoes, work gloves, insect repellent, sunscreen, and bring a flat blade spade if they have one.
WHO: Volunteers of all ages under the direction of HLWA.
WHAT: Plant seedlings, engage in educational activities for all ages, enjoy refreshments

WHY: To reclaim a vulnerable patch of land that is eroding into Hayden Creek causing water quality issues in Hayden Lake.
